Signposts for Civvy Street

For many of the UK’s 2.4 million Armed Forces veterans, transition to life on ‘civvy’ street has been – and continues to be – a difficult one.

Signposts For Civvy Street is a detailed handbook to help prepare military personnel for life outside of active duty.

From finding a home to gaining access to higher education, the pragmatic, easy-to-understand book has grown to become a vital source of information, guidance and inspiration for those adjusting to peacetime life.

To promote and offer more information about the book, the authors behind this detailed guide came to us for a simple, easy-to-use website.

Armed forces web design

Whether you’re writing a book on life outside the army, or wishing to bring your business online for the first time, our cutting edge web design brings you closer to your audience.

From eCommerce to brochure, booking websites to blogs – our low-cost web design packages can help you deliver, on time and on budget.

We’ve designed over 3,000 websites just like this one, ensuring that aesthetic and practical design is synchronous to each business’ needs.

For Signposts For Civvy Street, our UK web designers built an interface that remains focused, aesthetic, and straightforward from start to finish.

Web visuals

Receiving their design brief, our design wizards immediately went about designing and building a professional, enticing and engaging resource for our client and their online demographic – namely those transitioning from military to civilian life.

Ultimately, our goal with each website is to produce a beautiful and functioning digital interface that makes it easier for online visitors to control, manipulate and share.

Underpinning all of this is web design that both looks nice and performs – every single time.

First, we had to get the visual identity in order. We’re talking colour palettes, the way content is arranged, what content boxes look like, and how we want text and images to look.

No surprises for guessing this colour palette.

A red, white and blue palette says it best. Not only is it patriotic and on-brand, it’s simply one of the most iconic colour combinations. Ever.

From call to action buttons to text and other imagery, this colour palette works its way through the whole of the website to create a space that’s familiar and natural.

But it’s not just colour palettes that we have to think hard about.

How you communicate content matters, too, and a lot of this is down to the typeface.

With a sans serif, sleek typeface, this website helps to get information across to users quickly and effortlessly.

Whether you’re on the biography page or on the contact page, these two design elements work together to produce an experience that’s seamless and, more importantly, aligned to business goals – making it as easy as possible for users to learn about, and purchase, the book.

User experience

Speaking of the user experience, we believe it’s paramount that users should be able to access and use a website that’s built around their needs.

That’s why every website we make, including this one, is easy to use from beginning to use.

We do this by keeping things nice and easy – sticky navigation headers so that you’re only ever a click away from a page, striking call to action buttons so you know where to go next, and responsive loading times to ensure you’re not waiting to access your desired page.

The result? A space that our client can call home, and a space that users can rely on.
