Char’s Cakery are a deliciously-reputable cake and bakery establishment operating in Morden, South London. They provide a mouth-watering variety of bespoke confectionary treats for all kinds of events and taste buds.
They approached the team here at Red Website Design to produce a modern digital store-front, allowing them to receive online bookings and establish themselves as a reputable baking company on the market with a website to match.
The finished product is a beautiful, hand-crafted brochure website that demonstrates, reflects, and promotes the creative capabilities of our client who are proud to serve their customers as much as we are.
When we open the website we are met with a very open, transparent, and clean webpage. It’s a seemingly effortless design that compliments the soft colour palette wonderfully. It’s free from any unnecessarily clutter, and focuses the visitor on what’s important – cakes.
We really wanted to show off our client’s baking potential here, and right at the top of the homepage is the perfect place to do just that.
The three images we see are there to both communicate the types of services available as well as exhibit our client’s reputable baking skills – wouldn’t you just love to dive in and grab a slice?!
And this sets our client up perfectly for the following welcoming paragraph that both introduces the client to potential customers as well as communicates exactly why you should choose them to sweeten your next special occasion. Ta-dah!
To make it even easier for customers to make that purchasing step, the ending Call-to-Action button is a great way to get the ball rolling.
You’ll notice that the gorgeous blue (3ac4d1) and red (f6020e) palette is transformative in producing a signature-sleek web design; it also compliments the culinary nature of the site, too, as these are popular choices of colour on a variety of cupcakes.
However subtle these features may appear, they will go farther than you think in shaping your brand voice. How will you incorporate colour into your design?
As for the logo – well that just speaks for itself. It’s stylish, modern, and professional. The handwritten effect on the title just oozes bespoke, hand-crafted design that is the ultimate hallmark of our client.
For any website, you may want to think about adding a portfolio section, displaying your work to visitors who are considering your service. This enables your results to speak for themselves, putting less pressure on you to sell yourself.
In our case, the three images on the homepage we see are linked to a selection of cakes baked by Char’s Cakery – from wedding cakes to bespoke celebration cakes. Not only do these add inspiration to visitors, they show how our client can craft a product to suit any particular requirement.
It’s imperative for any business that you communicate well with potential and existing clients. This may take several forms, but an FAQ section is perfect in allaying any concerns and addressing queries that customers may have about your product or services.
The FAQ on our client’s website is fantastic because it has considered every step of the customer journey, and guides visitors through from curiosity to purchase.
For any SME, tapping into the potential of social media is a must. Displaying your active feeds next to your logo – as our client has here – solidifies your presence in the digital sphere.
Not only that – your social media can exist as an extension of a portfolio. Sharing your products as well as customer testimonials really gets you heard in the online community. This type of content is much more likely to reach your audience and spread farther than you think because of how easy it is to share!
We think we’re really onto something with our finished product, and happy to see our client do so well. See how we can make the web work for you.
