Everyone loves a good wedding
But just how often do we think about the planning and organisation that goes into them? It’s the same everywhere: if you’ve ever experienced the wedding process, you’ll know the scale of choice facing you. If you’re planning on getting married in Kent, though, you’re in luck.
The Kent Wedding Fair brings all the best local wedding specialists under one roof to help you make your day the best it can be. To spread the word, then, our client needed a compelling website. That’s where we came in.
Read below to see how our web designers put a ring on a stylish, modern website.
The Kent Wedding Fair’s website interface contains a myriad of intelligent design features that work together to provide for a unique, informed, and enjoyable web experience for their online clients.
At its core, the website itself is clean – visually smooth and utilising white space appropriately – on-brand, and effortlessly focused to foreground their amazing services.
For our team of web designers, nothing matters more than a good web experience, and the vast majority of positive experiences are decided as soon as visitors land on the homepage. More specifically, it is the top 1/3 of the homepage – commonly referred to as the above-the-fold section, taken from the front page of newspapers when they are folded and displayed to audiences.
For the Kent Wedding Fair, the above-the-fold section was our chance to really capture the user’s attention and display everything great about our client.
Of course, first impressions matter more than anything for modern websites; getting this right would enable us to encourage continued user interaction on the website itself.
When we land on the homepage, the top section of the homepage greets us with a large, open, and welcoming space with an opening slider. This interactive reel contains our client’s previous fairs in action, as well as some attractive call to action buttons.
At the top of this slider, we have our client’s centralised logo on a white background – perfect for making that all-important welcoming statement. Beneath, a large navigation header makes it easier for visitors to see what’s available to them. This also stays at the top of the user’s screen as they scroll down, too.
As web visitors progress their journey down the website, they’re met with centralised content on a white background and several rounded call to action buttons – all adhering to the website’s grey, black, and white colour scheme. This is class in action.
Finally, as we reach the bottom of our client’s new website, visitors can take advantage of our client’s social media activity thanks to the Instagram widget. Fab.
Supporting these features, we have, of course, web design itself – the building block of any successful modern website today. Visiting our client’s page, you’ll appreciate a clean colour scheme supported with a smooth sans serif Raleway typeface, often centralised to make communication that little bit more personalised.
For us, colour matters a great deal. With colour, we’re not only able to reflect our client’s core work; we’re able to influence the way people feel. And when this is done successfully, positive brand association follows.
From headers to call to actions, icons and headers are splashed in a smooth grey, resting nicely on a crisp white background. The result? A professional and stylish presence for a modern company.
For our client, our designers built something special to carry their online presence forwards. Now we’d love to bring affordable web design to you and your exciting project.
