Mark Stewart Productions
From tales of spitfires to dramatic flights to the moon, Mark Stewart Productions’ portfolio boasts an impressive roster of action-packed films filled with emotion, narrative and character.
To house their films, introduce their work to new audiences and market their services, they required a brand-new website to enhance their digital presence for their new era.
From building a minimal portfolio page to optimising their ability to connect to audiences new and old, our web design wizards turned their brief into a showstopping performance.
Film production web design
On the face of things, web designers and filmmakers share a lot of things in common. We’re not talking about specialist production gear or software. Nor are we referring to movie scripts and premieres.
We’re talking about making good first impressions and creating beautiful works of art, with a clear storyboard outlining how and what a user journey might look like.
One of the most salient grains of truth in web design is that design can make or break a user’s journey. Go too far too soon and you’ll overcrowd the space; do too little and you’ll leave users wanting more.
Striking the right kind of balance is an incredibly fine line, but when done well it can inspire and retain clients who need your services.
In a world heavily reliant on digital, websites are the middle operators between brands and customers. For this reason alone, they need to make good, long-lasting impressions. And they need to make them quickly.
Websites also need to serve customers’ needs from the very second they arrive. For a client looking to commission for a film, they need to know that the website – and the company behind it – can deliver.
Homepage web design
In-keeping with the website’s minimalist outlook, the website’s homepage is simplistic and straight to the point. Built over the website’s dominant blue and white colour scheme, the homepage was the place to directly show users our client’s work.
That’s why the homepage is occupied wholly by three large film posters as part of a rolling slider where users can click through and view the various films our client have produced.
And when a user wants to learn more about a particular film, they can simply click on the poster where they will be led directly to a page containing a trailer for that particular film.
Here at Red Website Design, we build websites that work.
Whether users simply want to browse a website, or carry out something more specific, our affordable website design packages lend themselves naturally to optimised web navigation for all your business needs.
For our client’s film production website, we built a navigational structures that assist the user on their journey – whether they’re here to learn more about our client, or have something more specific in mind.
This meant ensuring the website contained the right amount and style of navigation elements, from sticky headers to clearly labelled content. Furthermore, it meant keeping web copy simple and legible, and having the right amount – and position – of images across the website.
The result is a website that brings our client closer to theirs – on an interface that’s aesthetically pleasing and functional from start to finish.
