Reconnecting with one of childhood’s favourite pastimes.
There’s nothing quite like a good old game of Kerby. For years it’s been the go-to street game requiring only a ball and a solid kerb.
And a bit of patience for cars passing by.
For dad-of-two Paul East, though, he noticed these interruptions were becoming more frequent with more cars on the road.
He knew there was a better and safer way to enjoy the game.
And it was out of this lightbulb moment that ‘Kurby’ was borne – a modern take on a much-loved classic.
With Kurby bouncing off the shelves up and down the country, it was time to go online. Paul got in touch with us to get this done, and we were over the moon.
Have a read below to see what makes this e-commerce website so special.
When we think of our early Kerby-ing days, we envisage something of a concrete playground. For those a bit younger, you’ll more than likely remember scanning up and down the road for a suitable gap where there wasn’t a parked car on opposite sides of the road.
The amazing thing about our client’s product is that you can enjoy the same game in a completely different environment – one that’s safe, and greener.
Kurby allows for a much more mobile version of the game – allowing you to step up the competition in parks and gardens, away from speeding cars and emissions.
Reflecting this move, it was only natural that we injected vitality into this website with a refreshing green to get the ball rolling.
From header to footer, Kurby.co.uk is brought to life with a lime green that sums everything up about our client’s USP – taking the great game to anywhere you like.
With engaging CTAs, headers, and banners all splashed out in this life-giving green, we’ve ensured that when people immediately arrive on this landing page, they feel refreshed and inspired.
Away from palettes, design for us meant engaging users with visual stimulants. From images of the product right the way through to a sleek typeface, design on this website is forward thinking, friendly, and inviting above all else.
And with amazing design comes an amazing user interface that enables user interaction, engagement, and satisfaction.
For Red Website Design, crafting unique interfaces is all about providing an experience that users find value in – from to start to finish.
With online visitors making their minds up about your website within milliseconds, it was clear we had to give this landing page the loving it deserved to propel Paul and his product forward.
We did this by producing an interface that catered to user’s needs – such as convenient CTAs, service navigation buttons, a quick info snippet, and reasons why you should buy. All of these amazing features work together to bring the product to the customer – so they don’t have to look for it.
Kurby.co.uk is all about reconnecting people with their childhood game. But it’s also about encouraging those people to carry the name – and game – forward by making purchases.
Interfaces for eCommerce websites are especially important because they need to make the buying journey as simple and easy as possible.
A strong marker that this website is unique and compelling is its creative use of video. With the future of online behaviour becoming more mobile-focused, video is a huge way to connect with your audience.
As this is in an eCommerce website, product videos are a great chance to show potential customers what it’s all about.
Video media not only does wonders for your brand. It also helps in developing your social proof.
When we talk of social proof, we mean leveraging reputation to prove to customers why they are better off with a particular product or service. It’s every review, testimonial submission, social media feed, and influencer post. It’s also galleries as well as a ‘join X amount of customers’ call-to-action.
It’s everything that entices customers to seriously consider what you have to say and sell.
For our client, not only did we install a live social media feed, but we also placed testimonials throughout the website. This means that wherever – and whenever – Kurby’s customers use their website, they are always reminded of satisfied customers who are more than happy to spread the word.
