Travelling all over the world, Drs Hussain & Spierings provide expert, accredited teaching courses to surgeons looking to improve surgery techniques and industry knowledge.
Fuelling their passion for the medical industry and education, ICDS have been providing expert-led courses to improve patient experiences since 2017. Now they wanted an effective digital presence to drive their mission forward, increase brand presence, and house their services.

At Red Website Design, when we design websites for our clients, we think long and hard about how they want their presence to be consumed. For Drs Hussain & Spierings, we knew they were after a bespoke, professional presence. It also had to be reliable, trustworthy, and appropriate for the medical industry.
Keeping this in mind, we got to work, and the first thing we did was produce a colour palette that would provide a special kind of visual language for visitors spending their screen-time with our client.
With a blue and white dominant palette, our client’s digital presence is a refreshing one, and really helps to open up the content that lies inside. It’s the simplicity of this that helps us achieve so much – and just shows what you can do with colour and by understanding your client’s needs.
But for us to really positively influence how visitors consume content displayed across ICDS’ website, we needed a font that was able to represent a contemporary, visual language. With Montserrat, we get all this and more. And this really is down to having a sans serif typeface that brings this website to life and into the twenty-first century.
Away from visual languages, good design for us meant thinking about what visitors see on the page
Landing homepages are important for first capturing the interest of visitors – and then keeping it.
For ICDS, when we land on this website, we’re immediately introduced by a large, open slider with two big smiles from the Drs. This really helps us create a much more natural presence, and one that makes our clients approachable, relatable, and personal.
On top of this, we’ve also got a great introduction (‘The best skin surgery training…on your doorstep’) that welcomes visitors in nicely. And in-keeping with the design brief, this text is a mix of blue and white, too.
Great design means allowing visitors to interact intelligently witih your content. This carousel slider allows you to view several images all in one place, while still being able to access all the relevant CTAs you’ll ever need on your journey.
If there’s one design feature that has an amazing presence on this website, it has to be the logo. This one is minimalist, circular, and on-brand – helping our clients build a more compelling and consistent presence in the industry. It also has a large presence at the bottom of every page, meaning they stay relevant even at their end of a visitor’s journey.
What shouts amazing UI other than one that allows users to seamlessly travel across a webpage? For our client, we’ve built UI with the user in mind – from start to finish. To make this possible, we had to put ourselves into their shoes. What kind of demands and requests would they have? And what about those who are unfamiliar with our client? How can we best introduce ICDS to new customers?
Thinking about these questions, we started by implementing a navigation bar that makes it as easy as possible to find the several destinations that customers will need to go to. Ours is spacious, clear, and jargon free. By placing it to the right-hand-side of the webpage, we’re able to foreground the logo, too. Everyone’s a winner.
And it’s the sticky header that enables a consistent experience, where customers can quickly locate their next page without having to scroll all the way back up to the top.
When landing on the page, users are greeted by a friendly image of our Drs, and they can scroll further down to find out more information. From here, they’ve got access to a YouTube video, as well as an ‘upcoming courses’ section. It’s all about making that journey more useful, engaging, and customer-focused.
Clicking through the different pages, we’ve got images of specialists to make this digital presence that little bit more authentic, personal, and genuine.
A more personal touch
