As a leading provider of heating, plumbing, and gas solutions, Heat-Plex are the go-to for many across South London.
Since 2013, our client has been at the forefront of their industry, offering cutting-edge technology that means customers get more for their money.
Contacting Red Website Design, Joe over at Heat-Plex wanted a website that did more than display services. He wanted a modern, responsive, and sleek website that encapsulated everything they have come to stand for.
And there’s nothing we love doing more than that. Jump in to uncover how we took a design brief and turned it into a sparkling digital presence.
At Red Website Design, we’re all about producing design that’s inspiring, unique, and gets people talking. Whether it’s for a bakery, a tax consultancy, or a gas/energy provider, our design magicians love to create website design that does more than look nice.
Good website design allows you to associate content, imagery, and surfaces with the brand – immediately giving you a ‘feel’ for that website. It’s knowing you’re engaging with a company without even seeing a name.
When Heat-Plex gave us a rough idea on what they were looking to achieve with their design, we knew just what to do – and how to do it.
We also know we had to get this right, because when you first land on a website, it’s the design that initially communicates to you.
When we land on our client’s website now, we’re able to get a positive ‘feel’ straightaway. This is the hallmark of a website designed with values in mind. And this is largely down to the dominant colour palette of yellow and grey that carry the whole website through.
You’ll notice the yellow is signalled nicely by the logo, too, making this design consistent and uniform from start to finish.
But good design means providing a unique experience. That’s why, after users land on the homepage, they see a gorgeous opening transparent image, only to then scroll down and become acquainted with a sleek, white background.
And yet, with this change, we’re still seeing those greys and yellows interlaced on CTAs, titles, and icons.
Overall? This design is refreshing, unique, and full of optimism. It’s exactly the kind of design signifiers users look for when they want a forward looking and reliable website to extract information from.
And after users become familiar with design, it’s time for them to meet the company. Here, ‘About us’ and ‘What we do’ sections are great for letting customers know about their next favourite gas and plumbing provider.
A good sign that a website’s user interface is working is you’re able to do what you came to do. Whether that’s to find out more information, view their services, or simply get in touch, a good interface will make that journey as smooth, informative, and rewarding as possible.
A good interface also captures the attention of visitors – and keeps it.
When users first land on this page, the navigation bar is placed at the bottom of the opening image. And this allows Heat-Plex to not only foreground their logo and CTA – it actually encourages users to scroll down and learn more about the brand.
Elsewhere on the website, we’ve made the interface simple and easy to use. Content sections are revealed in digestible chunks, and are easy to follow.
You’ll find that on ‘Our services’, we’ve included a rotating gallery of our client’s amazing work so customers can not only learn more about what they can bring – but they can see for themselves, too.
Want to improve your SEO? Invest in blogging, if you haven’t already. Not only will you become an authority figure on a topic you want to be known for, but search engines will see more and more pages to be indexed – meaning you stay relevant.
