Orchard House School is a prepatory school in Lagos, Nigeria
Their aim is to help children make their first steps into the world, and to prepare them using the best educational techniques.
To make their presence more visible to parents in Lagos and beyond – and to keep costs down – Orchard House School needed a brand new website from Red Website Design.
Not only would this be a brand new website. It would be a whole new way of marketing themselves so they can transform even more lives.
Have a read below to see what our web designers did to make this one so special.
Just what does it take for websites to attract and retain user interaction, attention, and interest? For us, it’s all about appealing web design. Visuals, when done right, can work together to produce digital spaces that do more than present information – they get the conversation going and encourage conversions.
For Orchard House School, an educational preparatory, the website we designed and built from scratch needed to evoke the right values and emotions. Reliable. Professional. Fun. Relaxed. Familiar. When the right design pairs with the right values, special things happen.
For us humans, visuals are crucial. From the cave days when looking out for predators moving in the trees – to modern day businesses with appealing design – visuals influence the way we behave and think.
Which brought us onto the colour palette.
We’re big believers in colour psychology here at Red Website Design. Why? Because colour psychology can help compliment the user experience in ways other web design just cannot.
To reflect our client’s values visually, we went with a white, green, and maroon colour palette. This perfect not just because it offers users a professional presence, but because it manages to bring just a hint of playfulness that is so present in educational settings, helping to set the imaginations wild of visitors every day.
White backgrounds, with their neutral, content-free spaces, help to foreground content and open up the webpages to invite visitors in. This is what our web design is all about – connecting online clients with Orchard House School for a positive user experience.
Speaking of user experience, web design here helps to allow a free-flowing user experience, ensuring the visitor always stays in control.
When you land on this homepage, for example, you’re met with a large image slider, a mission statement, and two call to actions coloured with green and maroon. Scrolling down, users are introduced with some content, a handful of high-quality images, and three call to actions displaying ‘the curriculum’, ‘calendar’ and ‘gallery’. Behind these call to actions, we have images of the school setting to keep things relevant and focused.
Away from the homepage, our web design remains disciplined and on-brand, ensuring that clients who visit this website benefit from design familiarity. Nobody likes nasty surprises. Not even us.
For Orchard House School, our web designers took a design brief and turned it into a website on which OHS and their stakeholders can communicate, share information, and progress the values of the organisation.
