The Adoja-Attah Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organisation
It seeks to address the major socio-economic plight that continues to impoverish many across Kogi State, Nigeria. Through community projects, our client’s core mission is to provide access to education, healthcare, water, sanitation, and hygiene to the most impoverished in Nigeria.
Named after Prince Abubakar Audu, former Governor of Kogi State, the Foundation exists to fulfil the enduring legacy left behind by the Prince, who is internationally recognised as having brought about positive structural development to Kogi State during the 1990s.
Despite the transformations witnessed under his regime, extreme poverty remains widespread throughout the region.
We were more than happy to create a website where the foundation can centralise, organise, and display their on-going projects – ultimately helping them to do the best kind of work for those who need it most.
Being a charitable organisation, ensuring a free-flowing user experience was imperative if we were to get our client’s core mission across.
Landing on the website we are met with a slider containing several images that reflect our client’s branding, mission, and purpose. Immediately below are three small links to the various projects undertaken by the foundation, allowing visitors to learn more about the charitable work and get involved. These are accompanied with relevant, minimalist images.
The welcome section is concise and informative, outlining our client’s purpose and mission; here, visitors can get a flavour of who the Prince was and why his legacy remains so important to this day. It also leads nicely onto the ‘About’ section which contains the following links: ‘Mission’, ‘Projects’, and ‘AUDU’s Legacy’.
And for those who are unfamiliar with the Prince, the video below is perfect for providing a short biopic about his work. This short film is actually visible at the bottom of every page, ensuring the content across the website revolves around his presence and vision.
To round this off nicely, a several quotations from influential Nigerian figures give added context and reappraisal of Prince Audu.
The logo for our client was intelligently thought-through. Representing 6 figures with their hands in the middle, values of solidarity, community, and communal virtues are strengthened.
It also takes the shape of an emerging flower, with connotations of rejuvenation, growth, and hope.
It was important for us at Red that the design features throughout the website really reflected positivity and hope – central core values of our client.
Hues of blues and greens are consistent across the site, bringing life – and light – to the brand.
We did, however, want to push the professionalism of our client’s services. The soft grey palette goes some way in achieving this, providing a modern finish overall.
Information resource and links to mission, projects, legacy, and bio of the Prince
Ultimately, the purpose of our client’s website is to provide a community resource for current and future projects that are planned, funded, and completed in Prince Audu’s name.
The ‘Mission’ page sets out the vision of the foundation, and explores the ways in which it aims to transform the lives of many across Nigeria. The content here is digestible, focused, and simple – helping to strengthen our client’s work.
Arguably the most important page – ‘Projects’ – highlights the work being done and crucially, why the foundation needs to exist.
The Documentary page features several educational short films and documentaries that explore the foundation’s mission. These pages are often simple in design to foreground the more important content.
