Crafting the perfect message on a clean, client-focused website
When it comes to choosing the right message, Elle Letters knows how to put thoughts, ideas, and feelings, into words.
With her stunning calligraphy, Elle has built a reputation for creating beautiful, hand-crafted lettering for those wanting to say it best. Fusing her passion for pens and a soft spot for calligraphy, a business was borne.
To take her business one step further and inspire more customers, Elle decided to taker her venture online. That’s where we came in.
Through considered design and a minimal interface, our designers built a website that perfectly encapsulates everything about Elle Letters that makes it so special.

When our designers received their brief from our client, we knew exactly what needed to be done. Our client’s website would only attract the right people and perform at its best if it had the appropriate design in place.
Website design means implementing any values and USPs through design that sparks curiosity and encourages action. It’s also about reflecting your unique tastes and how you want your brand to be perceived by people online.
We wanted our client’s website to be as quirky, stylish, and unique as her customers.
Starting with the colour palette, how could we possibly do it better than with a baby blue and white palette? This palette achieves two things. First, it fulfils the professional need of any business website. With soft colour tones that are easy on the eye, we’re able to send the right kind of message to prospective buyers who want to be taken seriously. Second, this palette is very much in line with our client’s personal branding and style – this means we’re better able to target customers in a specific niche.
You’ll notice this colour palette runs through the very centre of this website, with important navigation buttons, headers, and banners all coated in the baby blue colour.
Away from colour palettes, design for our client meant keeping things minimal, consistent, and on-brand. There are no nasty design surprises, and design is kept minimal with white space invoking a clean, spacious digital presence. Perfect.
User Interface, Experience and Design
Websites not only have to look good; they have to feel good, too.
Amazing design on an optimised interface makes for a much better user experience in the long run. If online visitors don’t like what they see, on an interface they don’t like using, your business website will suffer.
Your customers won’t spend any more than around 8 seconds before they decide to leave. And with homepages suffering a significant proportion of all bounce rates, this is where you need to pay attention.
For our client, crafting a great interface meant taking all this wonderful design and planting it on an interface that users would be familiar with.
On the homepage’s above-the-fold, for example, users are met with a large, high-quality image, a welcoming introduction, and a clear logo/navigation area at the top.
Scrolling down, they’ll soon be able to start their navigation using one of several call-to-actions – one of which takes them directly to the shop.
Keeping user intent in mind, we’ve also added an Instagram feed directly below all of this to bring our client’s amazing portfolio even closer to customers.
And all of this is housed on a homepage with narrow margins to give off a much more clean and finished appearance.
Building A Genuine Reputation
Rounding off our client’s digital presence are the features and elements in place to secure a stronger reputation.
There are several pages on this website that significantly boost the trustworthiness of Elle Letters. The portfolio page, for example, enables our users to display her work to potential customers and showcase what she can bring.
Second, the Frequently Asked Questions page needs no introduction – this is perfect for adding that extra value to the user experience by anticipating customers’ queries before they need to make the effort of submitting a contact form.
Should they want to submit a form, however, they can easily do so via the Contact page. Here, customers can also discover more of what our client is up to through social media feeds.
By catering to users’ needs, we’re able to build an interface that works for them. Every time.
