Lung Health Check is a lung cancer screening service based at the Royal Free London NHS Trust
With pioneering research and practice, Lung Health Check deliver on patient experience and early diagnosis, making them a respected leader in the field. To compliment their services online, they required an affordable, brochure-style website from Red Website Design.
Our professional, UK-based web designers have been handcrafting medical and healthcare websites for over 13 years, delivering interfaces that not only reflect the high standard of work of our clients, but their reputation for delivering excellent patient experience time and time again.
From front to back, we created a modern, refreshing and client-focused website that helps our client connect and communicate with their patients every time they use the website.
What helps make this website so effective and easy to use is its use of both traditional and modern web design functionality. It uses both new and familiar web aesthetics to drive home an interface that can be understood by different generations of users.
Landing on the homepage, users are greeted with an interface that is clean, minimal and on-brand to its core.
With a continuous colour palette of white, gold and green touching on every corner of the website, the design aesthetic is one that associates with the medical field, reflecting an interface that is knowledgeable and trust-worthy.
We progress this trustworthy further by implementing a range of social proof elements, from lung cancer specialists / Covid-19 experts content boxes, to a testimonials section and an FAQ section.
All of this content is housed on an interface that is spacious and uses negative space eloquently. You’ll notice that content itself is spaced out to optimise legibility and give the feeling that this website can breathe healthily. Thanks to this sort of design minimalism, we’re able to bring our client’s website into the 21st century.
Navigation and user experience
We make websites that not only fulfil users’ design expectations (i.e. websites that look good) but that work well.
Website navigation is all about ensuring we implement clear navigation paths and structures to help users locate pages and services quickly and efficiently.
For Lung Health Check, this meant having a clear, legible navigation banner, optimised call to action buttons, visual design elements like coloured content banners and images of our client themselves, bringing them closer to users.
It also meant ensuring the design experience was consistent itself, avoiding the introduction of foreign design elements on pages that would do nothing but distract users and repel them away from what our client has to offer.
On every page, you’ll notice similar design features and replicable elements to guarantee a seamless, transitional navigation experience.
When we combine these two elements together – design aesthetics and navigation functionality – we’re left with a website that gives our client the digital foundations for a successful user journey.
Modern, user-friendly and trustworthy, Lung Health Check’s new medical website is one that is built for and around their patients.
