Harringay web design
For us, successful web design boils down to two things: visual appeal and user functionality. At its core, web design is what online visitors engage with to get close to your business and its services, and to help them solve a myriad of queries.
Keeping things simple whilst still having functionality is a challenging balance to make, but when done right, can improve the user experience ten-fold. When our Harringay designers received a brief from a business strategic consultancy, they knew they had to make design make those great first impressions.
And this entailed wrapping up our client’s values and translating that in inspiring design to encourage further user action.
As soon as you land on the homepage, you immediately notice how clean, modern and minimal the interface really is. And this was achieved in several ways.
First, the colour palette
A royal blue and crisp white palette gives this website a refreshing energy and helps balance things out. With this colour scheme, we’re also able to bring out other design elements and features such as images, call to action buttons and content banners.
Second, by utilising white space. Many web designers fall into the trap of thinking white space is bad space, but you’ll be surprised at how well it can work.
Nobody likes to be bombarded by content – white space helps to space out content and structure the website perfectly.
Third, banners and images. You’ll notice that, throughout the website, we have content banners containing key pieces of information. These are often supported by semi transparent images and accompanying call to actions.
These banners help to diversify the delivery of content and bring something new to customers’ devices.
Finally, we have the way in which content is delivered. From the sans serif typeface to chunky headers, we’re able to help our client say what they need to.
It’s all fun and games having appealing design, but if users can’t do anything with it, you might as well call it a day. Users usually make up their minds about your website within the first 8 seconds.
For our client, navigation functionality had to be there for customers.
With a sticky header, customers can scroll and find their next page with ease, whilst convenient call to action buttons are always visible to take them there.
We also have an incredibly clear and minimal services section on the homepage, neatly defining our client’s services and values.
And finally, on the services page itself, content is delivered to users in a chessboard fashion, which helps prevent scrolling fatigue. Perfect.
