La Petite Pup do one thing and one thing right: they look after other people’s dogs. Based in East Kilbride, Scotland, you might say the team over at La Petit Pup have the best job in the world. But with the best job comes big responsibilities, and our client knows that just as good as anyone.
To really get their foot in the game, our client decided to commission us to build a new website for them. Not just any website, though. It would be a website that would sum up La Petit Pup’s values and mission perfectly: a place where people – and their dogs – felt at home.
The end result? A digital presence fit for any dog lover. Now our client’s clients can access services and get in touch as easy as ever.

We love designing websites that inspire action, creativity, and user engagement.
This is only ever made possible, however, with the right design. Taking our client brief, we knew straight away what we needed to achieve with this project: a clean, minimal, and refreshing presence. It needed to look just right for our client’s kind of clientele. Only then would it be successful.
So, we did what we do best – we got it done.
Colour palettes are where the magic happens for us. They have the power to transform everything from brand mood to mission statement. Colours are a visual language that allow you to communicate signals that text otherwise would find difficult to achieve.
And what better way to celebrate a contemporary, minimalist presence than with a signature black and white palette? Running through the whole website, it’s a palette that is reflected in the black pet illustrations, navigation buttons, and the logo itself. Consistency is key here, and we pulled out all the stops to get it done.
Overall, the design of this website is beautifully minimal. The homepage, for example, is structured nicely with white space and content, as well as rounded Call-to-Action buttons and cute illustrations. We’ve built a whole interface that’s spacious, inviting, and everything a pet-minding business website should be: fun and trustworthy.
Away from the homepage, design remains familiar and consistent, providing for a much smother customer experience. And that’s always good for business.
Building an Engaging User Experience
When we ask people what their biggest reason is for leaving websites so quickly, we’re always met with the same response: poor user experience. The user experience involves everything from loading times to how easy you can navigate across the whole website.
If users aren’t having a great time on your website, they’re even more likely to want to leave within a heartbeat.
And as we know the highest proportion of people who leave websites do so within 8 seconds, we knew we wanted to make La Petit Pup’s website one where users could completely feel at home, as well complete tasks and find more information.
By keeping things minimal, we were able to do this for our client. Keeping the sticky header at the top, out of the way, but still visible, meant we could build a website that put users – and content – first.
User experience is also how well visitors can get in touch with you and your business. With this in mind, we created a contact us page with a user-friendly submission form, as well as handy contact details to facilitate those connections.
