Imagination Town is a role-playing centre based in Grantham, featuring a wide range of different areas for children aged 1-7 to explore.
Role-playing is crucial to a child’s emotional and educational development, and our client prides themselves on delivering on a safe space in which children can learn about the world around them in a setting that is fun, relaxed and child-centred.
When our client got in touch for a new business website, we couldn’t wait to get started. Here’s how our web design team got their role playing hats on to deliver on a website that’s not only fun, but delivers on the brief.

Web design interface
As humans, we’re captivated by visuals. The visual sense is one of the strongest, and helps us to navigate our complex world.
There’s a survival need underpinning all of this – if we don’t like what we see, we turn away. And in the case of web design, we click away. Visuals, then, are crucial.
For modern day businesses with appealing web design – visuals help influence the way users behave and think in the right way.
All of this brings us nicely onto our web design for Imagination Town.
Beginning with the colour palette, this was our opportunity to bring our client’s personality to online users.
We needed a colour palette that was fun, quirky, accessible and one that helped bring website content to the front of the homepage.
With an unusual balance of blue, orange and white pastel colours, our web designers smashed it out of the park when it came to delivering on a website that is bubbly and full of personality.
You’ll see this colour palette touch upon every corner of this website.
It’s in the navigation banner, it’s in headers, and it’s in design icons which again help to bring a more relaxed, fun side to the website’s offerings.
Other design content
Elsewhere across the website, other design features help to bring a more rounded user experience.
On the homepage, the use of a large background illustration, orange call to action buttons and content boxes helps to engage users with the website’s content.
Because, underneath the veneer of fun, this website needs to serve a purpose: to bring customers through the marketing funnel and out of the other end, which, in our client’s case, is a successful booking.
Getting from A to B on a website should be a simple task, but you’d be surprised at how many websites make this unnecessarily difficult for users.
For our client, by opting for a more minimalist, spacious user interface, we’re able to let users take control of their own experience and consume content on an interface that gives them room to move around with ease.
