Jewellery valuations that bring peace of mind.

If there’s one thing Annabell Parry gets up in the morning for, it’s valuating jewellery that holds a special place in her clients’ hearts.

Based in Cheshire, Fairmind are professional jewellery valuers that provide bespoke, reliable services for their clients every day.

For many of us, possessing jewellery of the most special kind doesn’t come around often (as we’d like). Indeed, for many of us, this kind of jewellery is only ever bequeathed after a death of a loved one.

The monetary value of such items may well never have been established during that person’s lifetime. And even if it was, it could have changed over time. (Your typical Antiques Roadshow episode often sums this up.)

And that’s where our client comes in. Fairmind are there for when those kinds of questions need to be answered.

Annabell Parry wanted a digital space where Fairmind could thrive and do what they do best – delivering a service that is memorable and trustworthy.

Read below to see how we took our client’s design brief and curated a beautiful, contemporary digital presence.

Design

When you visit Fairmind.co.uk, it’s hard not to admire the visually stunning design. Careful consideration went into ensuring this design was one that aligned with their branding identity.

One design feature you’ll notice threading right the way through this website is the array of hexagons composed of pastel triangles. Immediately, these incubate a contemporary, sleek aura that brings Fairmind right to the front of their industry. You’ll notice this design feature is a central component of their branding; you’ll spot it all over their physical design too.

In-keeping with a contemporary presence, we’ve optimised the white space to produce design that says everything without everything.

But when we do need to occupy space, we do it in a way that only serves to fulfil a purpose. When we land on the homepage, for example, we’re immediately greeted with a three-column services container. These all have beautiful, transparent images that have crisp white, minimalist service boxes. Having the soft, pastel coloured CTAs here work wonderfully, too.

And by hovering your mouse over them, these boxes come to life, making this design stylish, relevant, and visually pleasing.

Images are your best friend when used correctly; for our client’s, we’ve optimised and placed them where they matter. By having them run down the right-side of the webpage, we’re able to foreground content yet still make this website interesting and more personal.

Great design means having a typeface that responds to your branding and injects it across the whole website. How your visitors consume your content is where the true power of typeface comes in.

Typeface designer James Felici has said ‘The beauty of type lies in its utility’. It’s all well having a typeface that looks nice – but if that’s where it ends, you’re better off without it. A typeface needs to convey emotion and imbue the kinds of values inherent in your branding. For Fairmind, with a Monserrat typeface we’re able to build up a website that is cutting-edge, legible, and useful to its visitors.

Having a logo that communicates the right kind of values to the outside world is integral if you are going to want to leave a lasting impression in the industry. Fairmind have achieved this well, with a simple but effective logo that places their mission right at the heart of their external imagery.

UI – User Interface

For Fairmind, we knew we had to develop an engaging and responsive interface that was on-hand to solve their visitors’ queries and tasks. The UI on Fairmind is spacious, inviting, and open, allowing for a much more streamlined and fulfilled experience.

We’ve been able to do this by keeping things minimalist, unique, and full of purpose.

As I briefly touched upon before, our client’s homepage is very clear and open, and it’s this that makes the experience that little bit more special. Although great design has enabled this to look appealing, it’s having good UI that balances everything together in a coherent and digestible layout.

Having a well-structured website is what makes visitors decide if they would like to stay or leave. For our client, we’ve ensured structure remains focused and open, allowing this UI to balance functionality with appearance.

For example, scrolling through this stunning website, we’re greeted with a lovely introductory section that lets prospective clients meet Annabell and become acquainted with her mission. If visitors would like to learn more, they can, with a simple CTA that encourages further engagement. And from here, we’ve created a space that is much more personal – and one you’d expect from such a client.

Each page on this website delivers on making this digital presence unique, fulfilling, and, responsive. And, what’s more, your next page is also in view thanks to a sticky header that remains visible but not obstructive when you leave the website fold.

It’s this kind of website layout that engages with your visitors and ensures their experience remains the focus of your mission. And by doing this, visitors will remain in control of how they navigate across your website.

Accreditations

It’s healthy to show off why you are so good at what you do. You’ll notice several accreditations that are present right across this website’s layout. From industry backed, reputable organisations, these accreditations propel our client from the realm of the ordinary to the extraordinary.
