Delicious web design full of oohs, aahs, and mms
Our home-based cake studio needed a yummy website, so we built it for them. And now with a low-cost, high-quality website, our home-based client can create beautiful creations for customers all over the world.
Ever since 2012, Roxsys Delights have been baking beautiful cakes and bringing smiles to hungry customers.
From wedding cakes to desserts, corporate cupcakes to delicate confections – Roxsys Delights have nurtured their reputation to become one of the best known bakers in and around London.
When they submitted their design brief, we couldn’t wait to get started. Have a read below to see how our website designers brought this website to life.
We absolutely love receiving design briefs for confectionery companies; these give us the ability to let our creative juices run wild (within reason, of course!)
As with each and every one of our baking websites on our portfolio, we knew we wanted to make this website as professional, delicious, and user-friendly as possible.
A good place to start, as usual, was the colour palette.
With this web design project, we made sure the colour palette achieved a soft, creamy texture that reflected our client’s business perfectly.
We eat with our eyes, of course, and web design works best when you make it as appealing as possible.
So, that’s what we did.
Thanks to the soft pinks, whites, and greys, the colour palette forms a strong relationship with the brand.
It wasn’t just the colour palette that we needed to get right, however.
We ensured the whole website was structured and balanced with the placement of a central navigation bar (separated by the logo) and a refreshing, open slider when you first land on the homepage.
This slider features our client’s amazing work, alongside some useful CTAs to encourage customer engagement.
Broken up by various colour sections, the white background adds sporadic complimentary breaks in between text and various media, helping to make this website more diverse and unique.
And when users scroll down to the bottom, they can view a ‘top picks’ section where users can view our client’s much-loved work from their portfolio.
By combining all these small design pieces together, the end result is a homepage that’s not only appealing, but functional, too.
Website Interface / Usability
Making beautiful websites is important if you are going to encourage extended sessions. But they need this functionality to thrive and be successful.
Catering to the user is important if you are going to increase your conversions, and for our client, it meant having all the necessary features in place to assist the customer journey.
And we did this by placing CTAs throughout, having a sticky header, and ensuring the interface remained clutter-free.
And thanks to this, users can do what they came here to do – browse our clients products without being interrupted by unnecessary design.
Cooking Up A Reputation
Having a business website is perfect for building on your reputation.
Customers like to see for themselves what you do and how you can benefit them; having a website makes it so much easier for you to do just that.
And they’re beneficial in other ways, too. With testimonials, galleries and about us pages, you can strengthen your credibility tenfold.
For our client, they wanted to use their website to display their creations so prospective customers can learn more about their services.
Customers who visit this website will typically be deep into the consideration stage – they want a cake.
Therefore, making services as transparent as possible would come in handy.
And with a cheap 5-page website, our client was able to have a dedicated portfolio section to display all their work.
Building reputation comes in other ways on our client’s website, too. A latest news page reaffirms their status as an authoritative source, and a friendly contact page makes forming relationships that little bit easier.
